The girls finished the DPS summer league with a record of 1 - 5, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Human dynamo Rosemary Hernandez led the team in scoring yet again, averaging 7 points a game and Satya Akquia finished strong, averaging 9 points over the last 2 games of the season.

After being steady at the point during the 04-05 regular season, the summer league squad had revolving door at the position. The inconsistance showed early, but late in the season Hernandez made the switch from shooting guard to point guard and the team steadily improved.

Akquia was easily the summer's biggest surprise! With much improved ballhandling, she was able to drive more successfully to the basket, and she even dropped in a few 3 pointers. It is very rare to find a center that can pop out to the perimeter and display such a soft shooting touch.

Liz Delgado and new partner in crime Yessica Villa-Quinteros both played tough defense, limiting the other teams top scorers. Amanda Nava & Elsa Ramirez both made a positive impact in the rebounding column. Lone 6th grader Lucky Garcia showed flashes of brilliance on offense, leading the team in scoring 2 times. Very rare from a 6th grader, she definately has greatness in her future!
