The expections for the 2004-2005 team are high after a very seccessful summer season (runner up in Championship game at the Pepsi Center ). The team is 7 -0. Next game is a Playoff game On Wednesday vs. MLK tipoff is at 3:45.
Here is a little background on some of the players. Fernando Lopes , Derek Robinson, Alex Martinez Keene Sharp,and Sherman Gibbs have been with Coach Louis for three seasons. Jaun Valdez , Nick Quintana, Richard Carranza, Antonio Escobedo are in their second year. First year players include Serigo Martinez, Antonio Smith , Abraham Rodriguez, James Torres and Leandro Ybarra. They have worked very hard and they are looking forward to the second half of the season.
A special note . The Horace Mann's basketball team has been invited to play in the 20005 NBA Basketball All Star weekend Jamboree. Only 16 teams from around the state are invited to play so it is a real honor to these boy's. Boys beat Campus Middle school at the NBA Jam and play sat. night at 7pm on center court for a chance to play in the championship game on monday..
