Horace Mann Middle School

Dear parents and students

            I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and outline our school, Horace Mann. I am John Ludwig, not a native of Colorado but I got here as fast as I could. I remember looking at pictures of the mountains in Colorado when I was in grade school and knew some day I would live here. I have been the assistant principal for the past four years here at Horace Mann and have had the privilege of working with some very talented teachers, wonderful students and parents.

Recently, I received the promotion to principal, of Horace Mann, an assignment that I welcome and am honored to have. I have been a bilingual teacher, art teacher, lead teacher at the Denver public schools Night High school and assistant to three principals. I have been a perennial student, and continue to find excitement for student learning. As the principal of Horace Mann I will subscribe to the Denver Plan, I believe my school district can be one of the best in the country, and we are making headway.

Next year we will continue to employ educational strategies that utilize data and motivate direction for student learning. We will continue our work in professional learning communities seeking strategies to reach every student, we will maintain our vigilance and concern for the safety and wellbeing of our students, your children.  Of immediate consideration I think we can do a better job advertising the successes of our students and educators. Please take time out of your day to visit with me, perhaps tour the school, visit classrooms, you are always welcome. Queridos padres y estudiantes

            Quiero tomar esta oportunidad de introducirme y perfilar nuestra escuela, Horace Mann. Soy John Ludwig, no un natural de Colorado pero me puse aquí tan rápido como yo podría. Me acuerdo de mirar cuadros de las montañas en Colorado cuando yo estaba en la escuela primaria y sabía algún día que yo viviría aquí. He estado el principal de ayudante durante los cuatro años pasados aquí en Horace Mann y he tenido el privilegio del funcionamiento con algunos profesores muy talentosos, maravillosos estudiantes y padres.

Recientemente, recibí la promoción con el principal, de Horace Mann, una asignación a la cual doy la bienvenida y me honro de tener. He sido un profesor bilingüe, el profesor de arte, conduzca al profesor en la Escuela secundaria de Noche de escuelas de público de Denver y ayudante a tres principales. He sido un estudiante perenne, y sigo encontrando el entusiasmo para el aprendizaje de estudiante. Como el principal de Horace Mann me suscribiré al Plan de Denver, creo que mi distrito escolar puede ser uno de los mejores en el país.

El próximo año seguiremos empleando estrategias educativas que diagnostican datos y motivan la dirección para el aprendizaje de estudiante. Seguiremos nuestro trabajo en comunidades de aprendizaje de profesional que buscan estrategias de alcanzar a cada estudiante, mantendremos nuestra vigilancia y concerniremos por la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes, sus niños. De la consideración inmediata pienso que podemos hacer un mejor trabajo anunciando los éxitos de nuestros estudiantes y educadores. Por favor lleve tiempo de su día para visitar conmigo, quizás recorrer la escuela, aulas de visita, usted es siempre la bienvenida. Es un poco saben el hecho que fuimos votados la escuela mas amable en Denver noroeste este año por la Coalición para la mejor escuela, un pequeño espaldarazo que hace una diferencia grande en nuestra escuela.
